Introduction

The Alassan are a race of predominantly High elves primarily inhabiting the city-state of Alassa in the Alassan Archipelago. They trade bountifully with the mainland of Hanaa but follow a political isolationist policy, remaining neutral in many conflicts on the mainland.

Origins

Not much is known about how the Alassan elves came to Hanaa. Some scholars suspect they are distant descendants of the ancient Esmer elves that used to rule the land, supposedly millennia ago. The Alassan leadership mostly ignores these rumors but have openly denied them once, stating that the original Alassan settlers came by ships across the Hanissian Sea from the south, centuries ago.
